Dynamo (Steven Frayne) is currently in South Africa filming the third series of Dynamo: Magician Impossible.
The third series is due to air in the second half of 2013.
Dynamo made an announcement to journalists that he will be staying in South Africa for a while to film a special episode.
Dynamo: “It was decided a while ago that there will be a third series. We’re a couple of weeks in – and I’ve decided to stay to do an episode of series three! I’ll visit Johannesburg, Soweto and Cape Town. I’ll bring some magic to South Africa!”
“I want to go into some of the deprived areas; I want to go into some of the richest areas and just show a cross-section of what South Africa is all about in the world. I’ve got a few ideas of things I want to do, but I think I need to meet some of the people of South Africa first to get a feeling of this place.”
Lee Hobbs ( Discovery Networks): “We are incredibly excited to announce that Dynamo will be filming an episode of series 3 of Dynamo: Magician Impossible in Cape Town and Johannesburg,” said Lee Hobbs from Discovery Networks.
“The series is one of the most successful shows we’ve ever aired on Discovery Channel in South Africa and a special episode filmed in its two biggest cities is sure to be a big hit with our DStv viewers.
“We can’t tell you anything that he will be doing, obviously, that would be ruining the magic, but I’m very excited,”
The Dynamo’s South African episode is due to be the first episode of the third series when it airs.
Dynamo continues to be a hit with UK viewers, achieving record ratings for the UK channel Watch. His magic is inspiring thousands of young people to think of magic in a new and refreshing way and to pick up a deck of playing cards and start practicing.
Magicians can learn many lessons from the way Dynamo performs, and we recommend that everyone learning to become a magician should make a point of watching the new series.
With many of the recent magic TV shows failing to be recommissioned this year (Penn and Teller Fool Us, The Real Hustle and Magicians) It’s great to see the series continue to excite the public.
