Dynamo Magician Magic Set Good for Adults?

Michael asks if the Dynamo Magician Set is a great place to start learning magic after watching the Dynamo Live Show.

Michael writes: ‘I have recently received tickets for the Dynamo magician live show and this appears to have inspired me to want to learn magic.

However, I am unsure where to start. I want to try find tricks that are simple and easy to learn that are also impressive and can be used easily. Also I don’t want to be spending a large amount of cash as I’m a student on a limited budget and don’t want to waste money if I don’t get into magic.

Is there any particular tricks you recommend?

I’m sure you will understand this as all magicians will start from somewhere. Hopefully this will be the start of a slight obsession.’

Hi Michael.
Glad you liked the Dynamo Magician Live Show. It’s wonderful to see how Steven has progressed from the days of blagging his way into festivals, all the way to filling stadiums in his own right. It shows what any of us could do with the right dedication, focus, guidance, and practice! Dynamo and his team of magicians are inspiring so many kids and adults to discover how much fun it is to learn a performing art like magic.

I would highly suggest you check out the Dynamo Magician Kit. I know you will probably think it’s a set for kids, right? WRONG!

There is material in this magic kit that many professional magicians use daily in a working capacity, but is still simple magic to perform.

The Dynamo Magician Kit has a broken and restored headphones, self tying shoelaces, scratch card prediction, card changing sleeve, deck of cards, extra cards to use with the deck, and a booklet that describes tricks like coin in bottle and other awesome simple magic!

How to Do Dynamo Coin in Can Trick

Want to do the Dynamo coin in can trick? Here's the official version

We were proud to see our new release Deceptus performed by Dynamo Magician Impossible on the final series of the TV series. Right from it's conception we knew the method would be perfect for a TV series like this. Talking with production companies for series shows can always be a challange, as the requirments for good magic on TV can be very different from those of working magicians. Several shows wanted the effect, but we are really happy that it found it's home on the Dynamo Magician Impossible series.

Unlike much of the magic on TV, this method for doing the Dynamo coin in can trick is perfectly suited for live performance.

Criticism of how Dynamo performed Deceptus

There two important points to note about how Deynamo performed our trick. Firstly, the can needs to be at hand for the spectator to have access to. You will need to make sure that conditions are right so that the can is available when needed. Secondly, you should not let the spectator rip open the can. The can is sharp and could cut the spectators. Dynamo performs Deceptus in a controlled setting, but you will need to make sure that your spectators do not cut themselves.

You don't need to do it just like Dynamo

Just because you saw Dynamo Magician Impossible push a coin inside the can doesn't mean you have to copy him. Deceptus allows you to put any object inside the can as long as it fits inside. Why not borrow a spectators lighter, their keys, or even their signed playing card? Dynamo performed Deceptus in a setting that was right for the show, but you can perform it in a setting that is right for YOU. Make the magic trick your own…

Dynamo Magician Impossible Series 4 Episode 1 – Magic Tricks

Recommended Magic Tricks for Dynamo Magician Impossible Series 4 Episode 1

The first episode of Dynamo Magician Impossible has aired on UK TV and magicians are contacting the magic shop to ask about the magic that was performed. We’ve put together a group of magic tricks that are of interest to magicians that watched Dynamo perform and have been inspired by the magic.

Sub Zero – You hand out a deck of playing cards. a Spectator mixes the cards and places them on a table. You showa prediction card (let’s say the 9 of spades). Explaining that your card comes from a different deck you explain that the deck in front of them contains a matching 9 of spades. Your spectators task is “easy?” all she has to do is deal the cards into a face down pile, stopping only when she senses she is holding the 9 of clubs. You are both now committed to your cards. She slowly turns her card over and it matches your prediction 100%. Now as a final kicker you say “now that wouldn’t be that impressive if all the cards were the same……Or would it?” you turn the rest of the deck over and they are all the 7 of spades. The Clarity Box – This caught the eye of EVERY magician in the magic community and so many working magicians knew they had to have it! They kept coming back to see ‘that moment’ again and again. The moment we are talking about is when a folded card that has been on display in a CLEAR BOX, IN FULL VIEW the whole time is tipped out to show it is the spectator’s signed, selected playing card! It takes the Impossible Location plot to a new level! Find out more here

Fryes Chips – How to Spin a poker chip or coin on your finger with no skill required. Imagine being able to spin a poker chip on the very tip of your finger. Even when you’re inches away, the secret of the stunt is impossible to detect. It looks like you’re REALLY balancing a chip on the tip of your finger! It looks perfect from all angles and can be done surrounded. No thumbtip needed, and you could adapt it to spin a coin instead. Find out more here
