Training… Get it? We were quite pleased with the pun in this posts title. Oh.. Ok, never mind..Close up Olympic magician Danny Hall doesn’t let the location of the venue get in the way of amazing his spectators. He was hired to perform close up magic tricks on trains running through the Olympic park during the games.
Now that’s commitment to performing magic! An ever changing stream of busy travelers, jumping on and off the train, and speaking many languages in the most unsocial public environment in London. Nobody tends to like making eye contact on the tube, let alone be asked to pick a playing card! From reports, it went down a storm, was great publicity for the London magic scene and must have been a brilliant training experience for Danny too.
For situations like this, you need quick fire, in the hands tricks, that require little effort from the audience. You need to establish your magic trick skills quickly, and be ready to get to the climax of the trick at a moments notice. Not only that, but you definitely need a good sense of balance when the train gets going and you are right in the middle of a move!
